Asa: "Fire on the Mountain"

My friend sent me this song and I really like it. One thing I really love about this Asa woman is that she looks completely normal; not too weird, not too over the top, just herself. She just plays good music, and stays true to the root of what music is, nothing else.

Jónsi: "Go" (Album)

Jónsi of Sigur Rós has released his solo album, "Go".

Ok, bear with me on this one. Just heard about this from a friend of a friend and decided to take a listen. I like it! Good work background music, or when you just need to chill. Check it out and let me know what you think:

Samuel: "I Heart NY" and "Starry-Eyed (Cover)"

I guess I can relate to Samuel because I, too, feel that "I was made to grow up and be famous, so I'm trying my best to stay shameless." It's tough out there for an undiscovered international celebrity sensation like me so, for now, I will just play this track on repeat because Samuel totally gets me - I'm living it up in New York, just doing my thing, and so is he. Listen to this song, I have no doubt that you'll like it.

I have no idea when Samuel's album will finally drop, but he does a great remix of Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed" too - check it out here:

Sia: "Bring Night"

I know I already posted about Sia, but she is just so dynamic, unique, and fab. I LOVE this song and am making it my anthem of the day because I want the day to be over already! "Bring Night" is another single from Sia's upcoming album. I just can't wait anymore - I want it!

The Pretty Reckless: "Make Me Wanna Die"

I have been listening to this song for a few weeks now and I still love it.

I am not a huge Taylor Momsen fan, and I wouldn't have thought that her band would be any good at all, but this song is so catchy. Her voice reminds me a lot of Courtney Love's - the deep, throaty, don't-give-a-shit tone. And the fact that the song made it onto the "Kick-Ass" soundtrack definitely gives it some street cred.

Can't wait to hear Momsen's full-length album, which she's still recording. Let's see if it lives up to this single.

A Fine Frenzy: "Electric Twist"

I absolutely love A Fine Frenzy. This is great example of her work, although this song is a little more upbeat, poppy, dance, type song, than her usual stuff. This is off her most recent album, "Bomb In A Birdcage".

Howie Day: "So Stung"

I will admit that he's a bit generic, and the lyrics are odd ... but I like this song and still prefer his voice to Ryan Tedder's (One Republic) and Isaac Slade's (The Fray).
